buy the Anthem!!!

trance sag and jou sit and hop the whole time. Does not matter what shock, how hard its pump, jou can put a broomstick into the shock "cage", its still going to bob.

Anthem1, the RP3 or RP23 shock?... ok its Fox Float RP2 w/adj. ProPedal

The anthem is a shortwheel base landrover, it clinb like a mountain goat

Search the hub for "anthem", its the best value money can buy.popeye2007-11-22 05:31:14

I have the Giant Anthem 2 at the moment and have been more than happy with it, but am looking at upgrading Feb next year - its lighter and with Fox shocks it sounds a really good buy at R20000

I dont think the "lighter" will make such a big diff on a mtb. You carry a camelback on your back at about 2.5kgs xtra.

If its not the anthem carbin frame, rather look at the front shock and the RP2, with the various settings (9 different settings to control the "race" hardness or softness.

maybe go full XT,

but the anthem2 frame is exact as my anthem team frame, just another spray job.popeye2007-11-22 05:31:37

I paid 16.5k for my anthem 1 with fox shocks, raceface cranks,XT groupset,Juicy 5 discs and awesome DT Swiss/(Cant think right now) wheels. The bike rides better than a Whyte 46 and my Schwinn Mesa DSX i had

I agree with Popeye.  No point in "upgrading" as an Anthem frame is an Anthem frame.  Play a bit with parts to get what you want.

Thats why im upgrading my Groupset in March new XT looks so goodWink

I did the Epic this year with my Anthem 1.  Perfect. ZERO problems. 100 % joy.  Replaced the saddle with phisyque -road saddle.

I think almost everything on the 2008 model is different to the Anthem 2 2006 model - Fox shocks rear and front, DT Swiss wheels etc - would it still be cheaper than selling my Anthem 2 and buying the Anthem1
