The glass is still there....the road surface is only really bumpy through two turns, ruts and potholes are on the inside of the corners, so just go a little wider.  Dont think it needs to be resurfaced.  It's a damn sight better than some of the road surface on the West Coast Express...but I guess the potholes will be filled in eventually (I hope).  I just hope they close the damn gate once the race is over, that will keep the tikkoppe etc out, so we will maybe see less glass.  At 6 a.m this morning there was a car parked about halfway up the pass with two characters standing next to it knocking back a few quarts of Black Label..

There was a car with guys klapping quartz's at 2:30pm aswell I wonder if they had been there all day???

We also encountered ?bus loads of vagrants? there about two weeks ago, must admit will not go up there by myself or not even in a small group

Yeah as a support vehicle driver on the day, i saw that as well! found it very strange that there was a SA Jeux guy hanging onto a Green LandRover on the last few climbs!!! behind the six guys left in the group 1 km up the road?

 

On the last descend before the finish saw the same guy hanging around the Green LR again, this time in front of the 6 man SA Jeux bunch

 

After passing the bunch and watching the finish there was 7 guys on the line? VERY STRANGE?

 

I know there were alot of people hooting at the Green LR and dishonest rider! Honesty always prevails!

 

Anyone else see this JOKER? did not get his number, i bet he has told all his mates how he finished so well and in the respective time!

 

Who ever you are, you know your a CHEATTER and dishonest rider.

HAHA, Joker, it was me and also if you read by my posts I popped at 185km and yes I did hold onto the car cause they came up to me and asked if I was ok and needed anything I held on for about 1km in total while I was getting a bottle of Re-hydrate and why didnt you see the Cyclelab rider from AM team also holding on getting a bottle???

 

I rode to the finish with my team, sitting at the back and not working as they all agreed that I cannot work as it was not fair on any other teams. I did so and the reason I did it is cause I wanted to finish with the guys I kaked off with for so long. At the end they went ahead and I went right of the mats and even told the one PPA guy I did not finish after the told me to come over the mats and I had already taken my transponder off long ago.

 

So when you look at the reults and you will see that 6 riders got the time not 7 so I never told my mates I got a good time atall and they can go and see on the WT site if they need to.

 

So where is the dishonesty there?

You seem to have all the answers here! Were you the one driving the Green LR?

Cheating and hanging on vehicles says more about a rider than finishing with a chip on! NOT.

It was not my job to check for a chip on ever rider that crossed the mats, however seeing a very poor sportsman turns my gut and there are 7 names on the list as finishing, so that speaks for its self! Not!

 

I am sure PPA are well aware of this JOKER, glad he was not in my team, would never want to ride with him again. CHEATER!

GR, was this your first DC as support vehicle driver?  Let me tell you in previous DC's I've seen far worst, being the back up driver....promiment local teams hanging on to their team vehiclesgoing up climbs AND claiming finish times .... you see a lot of stuff from behind a car steering wheel on the day, but in the spirit of the event....I keep quiet about what I see

I find it funny cause I was the 1st guy on this forum on a DC post to say I blew and then we all came out with it now Im a cheat??

 

GR: Please call PPA, call whoever you want I was out the race and everyone knew it and everyone knows (all my mates you say) I didnt finish with my team so please do what you need to do its not my fault you had to sit in a car all day and pass out peanut butter snadwhiches.

 

If it means that much to you I will sign my shirt for you and you can have it.

Ghost Rider, Rumour has it that a top team had a motorbike with them with a spare wheels to change if needed, is that cheated as well?

 

 

 

Oh, and the black corsa bakkie with canopie that handed stuff through the window while they ride.

 

 

 

so many, but you know what, it do not matter because 95% of the riders is doing it for the fun and to be with friends.

 

 

 

Just a pity you think that riders make enough money out of the D/C to feel this strong about 2 guys hanging onto a green landdrover.

 

 

 

Next time, I will not help that other dude (from a other team) on a hill, you might see it as well and will brand him as a cheat.
