The Niner air 9 frame weighs approx 1.3kg at R6000 and it can take sus forks as well

Don't see why you must buy a frame like this 1???

Is the Niner Air 9 scandium the lightest 29er Hardtail frame you get?

(Besides carbon frames of course...)

Cannondale.

At the forefront of bicycle engineering.

How can a bike with "half a shock" (you don't feel the difference at all),

be heavier than a bike with a whole shock?

That is if you include the shock in the weight,

which one usually doesn't.

I wouldn't want to go lefty and hence Cannondale, so C-dale out of the question

These are things Iv read about it...

It does not have quick release front wheel. (which I need to transport the bike)

Expensive to maintain.

Problems with water entering the internal part of suspension under the rubber boot.

Need to service more regularly than Rock Shox or Fox

True, it is a pain to get the front wheel off.

It is after all, up to you.

And your reasons are all valid.

Good luck choosing a frame

Whats the difference between the Momsen AL729 and Momsen TWEN-9AL? Check them out

Also, Is it worth it to put an extra 3k more to get a Morewood Kwela 29er or 2012 Niner EMD frame?

Is there any other frames I should look at in this price range?

Need advice... Thanks

Depends on what size frame, the TWEN9AL was around 1.8kg if I remember correctly. Built with X7, ZTR wheelset and Recon fork. It came in at just over 10kg. Which is pretty respectable I reckon.

TWEN9AL and TWEN9ALC pricing is R2750- R2850 +_

External routing throughout.

Not to twinkle on our battery DD.

Just over 10kg for that build sounds seriously optimistic.

I'm currently building a Niner EMD9 with 2012 XT 2X10 Groupset and Reba RLT Fork with ZTR Crest wheels with Race King 2.0 Foldables with SLR Seat. Aluminium stem and seat post.

Estimated weight will be around 10.8 kgs with eggbeaters if i'm luckydrool.gif

EMD frame weight is 1530grams if i'm not mistaken.

The Momsen alloy frames are very heavy, but also you get what you pay for.

When looking at Momsen I would rather go for the frame sets like the SL929 with Reba fork or the new SL729 Carbon frame with 2012XT group set ERP : 25,000.
