True story.

Postman Pat's cat (the black & white one) was played a tom. Not many people know that. Who can remember her name?

HuH - It was Jess the cat.

The shop stated they would have to get the part for you, that means it's not in stock which implies postage will be incurred. To not be willing to pay postage is being petty IMHO.

They could've waited for the rep's usual delivery day, no? Instead of having it posted?

I often get parts that aren't in stock at the motorbike shop. It usuall works like this:

me: I need part xyz

dude: We dont have stock I can order it for you.

Me: cool, how much will it cost?

dude: R 450.00

me: cool, call me when it arrives.

Now, if I go back to pick it up, and he says oh, ****, we had to pay a delivery charge to get it, I'll say lovely, here's my R450.00. If he insists, I'll tell were to stuff his nice shiny part, I might even offer to stuff it there for him, and never go back to the shop again.

Taps, your opinion, while humble, is also daft.

interesting take.

you however asked how much the part costs ... and you got the price. You did not ask how much the item will cost to get it to the shop. Those are two different questions.

I wouldn't give a rat's arse how much it costs to get to the shop, and I would never ask that. If they wanted me to carry the cost of that, they should have included it upfront in the cost of the part. Bottom line is that the store cocked up, and is trying to pass the buck. Poor way of doing business.

It's like the guy who walks into a shop, and brings a part to the counter, then asks: "Can you fit it?". Then gets annoyed when you charge him labour.

I'm currently shopping around for an airbrush. The hobby shop got me a price that's Vat and shipping included providing I pick it up from the shop. Buying another make direct from the importer they quote me ex Vat and ex postage. In both cases I know exactly what to pay.
