98 buxs a month - covered.

Accident damaged a Manitou Nixon fork - scrapped - insurance paid for new, 7500. No quibble.

Stupid not to.

I also believe, that faced with two Noggins with knives, you will be happier to give it up without a fight if you know it is covered.

Both mountainbikes covered. Can't afford to replace either of them cash.

Road bike an old second hand bike. Don't feel it's worth spending the money on insurance. Don't ride it often anyway.

Best outlook concerning insurance.

This is my main reason for insurance and second reason was to cover my prescription glasses in case of an accident. You never know when your going to need insurance.

Where do you get proper insurance for R80 pm?

Speak to your broker :)

We got a new broker to insure the business, car, household and bicycle and took it as a package without focusing on individual insurance premiums. Ironic that we pay less for all this cover than what we previously paid for just the business and car.

There are a lot of threads here about bicycle insurance.

There are a lot of threads here about stolen bikes.

How many of you actually have insurance on your many tens of thousands of rands worth of toys? Every post in the stolen bikes threads seems to be about some poor bugger wanting to get his bike back.

Me? My car, my bike, my bicycles get nicked, I distinctly do not want them back, cause f*&k knows what the morons did to them. I just want insurance to pay out and I'll be on my way.

Don't get me wrong, I feel your loss if your bike goes.

Just asking.

;;; waiting on my new wife worth 30k plus no insurance at the moment any advise which one will be the best?

As an example, my Tarmac SL2 is insured for R26K and my premium is R82 p/m. And every individual component on the bike has been sent to the insurer on an excel spreadsheet so that if I have a break, each component is individually covered in case of a smash. My broker pays out within 48 hrs, no questions asked, because all my admin & paperwork is taken care of up front when I buy the bike.

You obviously get much better premiums on your bike(s) if you already have your house/cars, etc insured with the same insurer. You just add the bike to your insurance policy as a specified item.

For youngsters who don't have household, car insurance, etc., a suggestion is just to ask mom/dad to add to their insurance policy and the lighty pays the folks the value of the premium each month.
