The expat cyclist Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 They are closely matched... I would go for the pretiest one - at some point you will want to upgrade components. No use in upgrading an ugly bike! But if you are NEVER going to upgrade, the Momsen...Although I love GT.

The one in the link is from Bester cycles in Pretoria. So it should be new and I'm sure they can get you the size you require.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely consider the Merida (just the matter of getting it from PTA to PMB) but on the advice I think I might be leaning towards the Momsen...

SRAM X7 30-speed drivetrainRockShox Reba RL w/Motion Control lockoutAvid Elixir 1 hydraulic disc brakesBontrager 29-1 Expert tires Does anybody have some comments on this bike?
Juba2 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I would take the Momsen, some of the critical components like fork is better and is also a local bike. Also consider other bikes as their is a lot to choose from.
