Has anyone seen the Continental X king 29er tyre available for retail anywhere in SA?

Unfortunately as far as we can tell the Continental X-King does not come in a 29er UST.

 

Versions available.

- Continental X-King 29 x 2.2 & 29 x 2.4

 

Are you looking for a 29er UST specifically?

There are also no Conti Mountain King UST or Conti Race King UST tyres available as far as we can tell.

 

Perhaps you would like to look at the Schwalbe xxx Snakeskin TL-Ready versions?

The Snakeskin offers extra sidewall protection and these tyres are Tubeless Ready.

Im running my folding x-kings as tubeless on my Shova. After they settled I have had no issues.

I have just bought a set of these as they were the only 29er tyres I could find. I am not convinced as to their sidewall strength but will fit and test.

Thanks for the update. I'm quite keen to try the 2.4 tyre. They're not tubeless, though, are they? I heard somewhere that Conti can't/doesn't sell tubeless 29er tyres because the weight weenies say they are too heavy!

No they are not tubeless. As far as i know the X-King 29er tyres are not available in UST (Tubless) variant.
