Back for the second time by popular demand, here’s something that will definitely excite you - The Bridgestone Route 69 MTB Experience.

 

The Bridgestone Route 69 MTB Experience is a challenging three-day MTB event starting on Friday 24th of February and finishing on Sunday the 26th 2012.

 

Starting at Lanseria and finishing at Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift, some three days later, this is the ride to do if you’ve committed to doing one or more of the big mountain biking events in 2012 - Epic, Joburg2C or Sani2C.

 

This must be part of your 2012 training programme.

 

In true Leverage Corporation fashion, this will be a ride where you will be challenged; it will be a ride which you will enjoy; and it will be a fantastic event which is well organized and run.

 

Following numerous requests, from riders who were unable to get away from work on the Friday, we have introduced The Bridgestone Route 69 Weekend MTB Experience. That’s right, the shortened version of Route 69 on the Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th. 130km of tough, fun and stunning riding.

 

And don’t forget The Bridgestone Route 69 Mini MTB Experience, for those of you who are keen on riding only on the Sunday the 26th. It’s from Maropeng to Kloofzicht Lodge and it’s an absolutely stunning 60km route.

 

RACE OVERVIEW[/b]

 

Here’s what the route entails:

 

Day 1: An 80km “warm up” starting at Lanseria and taking you through to Hartebeespoort to the Van Gaalen’s Cheese Farm - home of The Magalies Adventure.

 

Day 2: Ok, so now you’re warmed up, get ready for a tough and challenging 70km route kicking off from Van Gaalen’s. You’ll need to negotiate more than a couple “men from the boys” climbs before reaching Maropeng in the Cradle of Humankind.

 

Day 3: Then get ready for the home strip with a final 60km burst from Maropeng to the luxurious 5 Star Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift.

 

200 km later - you’re now ready for that 5 star spoil. Kick back and enjoy a leisurely lunch, compliments of us, while you relax at the pool and soak up the views in the relaxing company of family and friends.

A Special What’s Included

Following numerous requests, we will be introducing a shuttle service, complements of Europcar, where you will be shuttled back to the starting point on each day to collect your car. We will offer you a safe and secure facility to store your bike overnight at Van Gaalen’s or at Maropeng.

 

What’s out:

Just accommodation–you need to look after the logistics here and make your own accommodation arrangements.

 

We will unfortunately not be able to release details of the route to you now, as the landowners have requested that we respect their privacy until race day. If you did the event in 2012, the route remains largely unchanged, but expect a few surprises.

 

Entries are limited to 500 riders, so best you enter soonest.

 

Entries close on 12 February 2012 at 23h00.

Shuttles back to start of each day?

Yes, there will be shuttle services taking riders back to the start venue for those riders who left their vehicles at the start or cannot arrange transport to collect them from the finish area.
