Just out of interest, are the following allowed in races?

 

1.) Underwater MP3 players?

 

2.) Those new beepers that help you keep your stroke count up?

Next you're going to want an underwater GPS to point you in the right direction too. If it's not doping, it's other forms of "performance enhancers". What happened to doing what comes naturally?

If power/cadence meters are allowed on bicycles then surely an underwater beeper should be allowed for the swim section??

I was more thinking of them installing lights at the bottom of the ocean so that you can follow them. Surely if the tarmac road has lines on for you to follow then they should be allowed in the ocean as well?

You may end up doing a real "open water" swim if you go off course and don't hear the officials calling you back.
