Which bike rack 2 buy---4 bikes ???

I want to buy a tow bar-mounted bike rack---MUST be able to carry 4 bikes.(To use for MTB or/and ROAD bikes)

Any suggestion will help

For 4 bikes get a trailer , 4 bikes + 4 people + 4 helmets + 4 bags + ..+ ..= one uncomfitable trip.

Thanx, but I am driving a double cab---so lots of space for the helmets, bags etc

I've got an Altera tow ball mounted rack which can take 3 bikes, but they do make a 4 bike carrier.

 

It is nice and easy to fit and reasonably solid. BUT ... it is a helluva jigsaw to get 3 full size mountain bikes on, threading the clamp stays through gaps between the frames. The idea of nice solid lockable stays looked great until I tried to get them through 3 completely different geometry frames. It's also a fair amount of weight too. I'd be quite nervous adding a 4th, even without the extra hassle of trying to slot a 4th bike stay clamp through the spaghetti.

I have a Pendle bike rack for 4 bikes i bought on CRC. Its is heavy to put on and take off as its made from Steel but it cost R2500 and not R10000. It works fine.
