Prosecutors close Lance Armstrong inquiry with no charges

Its actually quite easy to provide "evidence" if you have a relationship with someone. Just a pick a date and time that you were together preferable alone (as it actually took place it cannot be disputed) then make a claim that you witnessed something go down. This automatically makes it fact as unless that person can provide a reason that you have an ulterior motive its believable.

Me, well in today technical world, video/audio tape, DNA, fingerprint, photos, emails, letter i.e. solid stuff you can sink your teeth into is what damns a person. Funny this is lacking in the LA saga.

Sounds like a principled woman, accusing the Feds of being intimidated or corrupt.

I'm with Tumbles on this. She wants justice and when the investigation came to nothing she lashed out. Doesn't change anything for me.

History and life suggest those who appear most honorable is most subject to bribery themselves. Hell if i wanted to nail someone and all they had to do is say i heard him say this and that, i can buy my own witness for R500. This is America afterall the country of high values and social morals "cough cough"

Not saying anything but its amazing how people think Lance can pay off the entire FBI and procescuting authority but everyone here thinks you can't get a single women to lie in court? (not saying she is or she isnt) just highlighting the thought process on this thread.

its all kind of amazing. :w00t:

I see not really damning then is it (but why should she lie.)

Exactly. All the others, Flkandis, the vanishing twin, Lemond, all have a financial motivation. The Andreu's have none. I'd believe them then.

yawn... I tend to take Dr House's approach when it comes to professional cycling. "Everybody Lies"

I take that approach in general life...

Doctor says no. What reason would he have for lying, did anyone check if he came to own a new pool or fancy car shortly after.

Andreu testified that while visiting Armstrong in the hospital for treatment of testicular cancer in 1996, Andreu overheard Armstrong tell his oncologist that he had used “steroids, testosterone, cortisone, growth hormone and EPO [an illegal performance-enhancing drug].”

Although both Armstrong and the physician disputed the testimony and the case was settled out of court in Armstrong’s favor, Swift nonetheless commented, “Which testimony is more credible? The Andreus’ or Armstrong’s? Ask yourself which party had the most to gain by lying. And why is that particular testimony significant? Because one of the possible

side effects of prolonged steroid use is testicular cancer.”

I'm sure the Armstrong medical aid provide by Oakley and Nike made sure of the doc's testimony.

Ha ha. My thought process didn't start on this thread. If it did I'd have very little to contribute. Have you read up on Betsy Andreu?

I don't think anyone posting here thinks lance bribed the feds to drop the investigation. I think that they (the US investigators) just couldn't find the evidence to support the claims that Lance used USPS money to buy dope.

Again, the feds weren't investigation whether he doped or not.

Yeah and her most famous statement is this "that they heard Armstrong admit to having used performance-enhancing drugs while he was in a hospital to be treated for cancer in 1996" so he was chilling in bed taking epo to performance enahnce the ball they about to chop off?

"In an interview with the New York Times in September 2006, Andreu admitted that he had taken EPO to help prepare for the 1999 Tour de France, when he was riding for the US Postal team which assisted Lance Armstrong to his first Tour victory.[3] Andreu said he was introduced to performance enhancing drugs in 1995 while he was riding for Motorola.[4]"

Wonder why the FEDS ignored this. Andreu (why would he lie) stated he doped while riding for USP. Also as he was being paid by USP surely he should be wearing metal bracelets and getting pally with Baba for cheating.

has long asserted that they heard Armstrong admit to having used performance-enhancing drugs while he was in a hospital to be treated for cancer in 1996 has long asserted that they heard Armstrong admit to having used performance-enhancing drugs while he was in a hospital to be treated for cancer in 1996

He is said to have admitted, while he was in a hospital bed, to taking PEDs. Does that help? Do you know the rest of the Andreu story?

Again, the feds weren't investigating anyone for doping, but rather how the dope was bought and paid for. - Just taking performance enhancing drugs is not illegal in the USA.
