I'm hoping to do it although my fitness level is *** at the moment.

This race last year was after IM and was the CG & GN duathlon champs.

Are you not referring to the first Afriman race at Babbas Lodge? This one is part of the Momentum I-Flex sprint series(5/40/2.5 this year).

They forever keep on changing the format of the races in this series...

Who did this one yesterday, what did you think(besides being flippen hot) and does someone have the cycle leg, profile??

Was my first one, moerse lekker! Did it on MTB so the roadies flew past me on the cycle (some of them anyway). Nice and hilly that route ey? :) Well organised event, and those overseas athletes, jislaaik, some pretty ladies there!

I got 545m on my polar.

Did everyone get 43km? Of just me?

I got about43km as well. 545/524 sound close enough to each other to be accurate (mine is based on what a FR405 measured, no elevation correction plugin in Sporttrack

I tried to measure splits from timing mat to timing mat and got the following:

Run 1 : 4.88 km

Trans 1: 0.09 km

Cycle : 43.09 km

Trans 2: 0.08 km

Run 2 : 2.56 km

It was a tough day 'in the office', I have some Achilles niggles, and had cramps in both calves for the whole cycle leg. Resorted to walking the second run so I can finish... Worst personal duathlon performace EVER :( but you have to start somewhere :D

Dont stress about the cramping - after a 5k run, if you cycle on such undulating terrain into such a headwind, cramping is understandable :)

My cramping was most likely due to calf raises I've been told to do to strengthen the Achilles tendons. Bio keeps on finding special ways to kill me slowly. At least the races are finished for now, can go back to do base training and get the foundation down again.
