My better half and her dad will be in H on a tandem. Not sure what kit they'll wear, either red City Cycling Club or green/white kit we had made for our recent DC tandem team. If it's the green/white kit then it will have their names on the back somewhere. They did an easy 3:23 last year out of L group for their first Argus on a tandem, so they want to improve on that. As for me; I'm in B bunch on a tandem with the same partner you saw at the Bay City race.

I'm also in H and this is my first Argus. Not really sure what to expect and what a realistic time could be, but I'm hoping for a 3:15 or better too.

Juuust ahead of you in G. Smile and wave as you pass (blue Cannondale, Nedbank kit). Have fell off the training bus or something, not feeling all that well the last couple of weeks. Just hoping not to get sick.

Thanks guys, seems like it's not gonna be just me against the "non hubbers". How are we gonna recognize each other? Gotta work something out.

SeaBee . Why not just fall back and ride with us?

Wannabe - i am in H but rather stay away from me as i am not in my best form. So if you see me during the race - or even worse, my back wheel, you know that you are in trouble and will not get your sub 3h15

Hahaha - no it isn't. Legs are okay but did not do enough training. Talking myself down and aiming to exceed my "talk" :whistling:

My wife and I are in H on tandem. We always wear long socks! Hoping for 3h30 with no long distance km's and only lots of bmx training for Worlds in May. Wife running only this year as she doing first comrades. Thus 4h is also possible! Remember to behave on your single bike around the tandems as we cant swerve or alter or lines in the twisties.

A sub 3 from H is possible but unlikely.

But if you want to make it happen, it might work best to form a breakaway group of over 15 cyclist and properly work together.

Catch one or two groups, and then sit in that front group and keep your strength. You will need it for later.

Most sub 3 hours dreams are destroyed at Chappies and Suikerbosie where one normally loses too much time. If after Suikerbosie your avrg is 37km/h than you can make it happen.

Good Luck and enjoy this crazy cycling carnival which is also our SA cycling benchmark!
