  1. After spending 4 night in hospital with a severely infected gall bladder, I was discharged last Monday only to be re-admitted to hospital last Thursday to have the damn thing removed. Doc says that I need to stay off the bike for at least 4 weeks. Said that I can still do Argus, but I will not be able to train for it...
  2. I've entered the 1/2 marathon for Saturday but will unfortunately not be able to race. PM me if you're interested in taking over my entry.
  3. Most definitely! Racing the 1st lap and then taking the wife for a relaxed 2nd lap on the tandem.
  4. Finally managed to enter by using a colleague's laptop. Seems like my issue is due to Internet Explorer as my colleague uses Chrome. Thanks for the offer to help.
  5. Is anyone else experiencing problems with entering this event? I have been trying since last week Monday to enter on all the various sites but no luck. I have also phoned and sent emails and have not received any response to date. Any advice on what else I can to do to secure an entry?
  6. I'm 36 and in the youth boys category!
  7. This is little Charlie. He came into our lives on 30 December 2013 and sadly left again 2 nights ago at the age of 4 months. Despite him being sick for most of his short little life, he was such a gentle, happy little kitten. It's amazing the huge hole the passing of this little guy left in our home and hearts. RIP Charlie.
  8. I see this event has now moved to Monday, the 28th of April.
  9. I started seeing Karin Paquay in August last year and lost 16kg. Her office is opposite The Campus in Bryanston. PM me for her contact details if you're interested.
  10. Very happy with Polar's service. My wife took my speed sensor in yesterday as I thought the battery needed replacing. They tested it and found that the signal was very weak. Asked how long I've had it (since May 2012) and replaced the whole unit free of charge as they are "meant to last much longer".
  11. I've just registered at Solomons Lynnwood Rd. Cycle Lab Fourways tomorrow.
  12. I entered yesterday and saw that they are giving the guys who entered the 94km the option to do the 106km instead of the 80km.
  13. Was just wondering, if we have all been downgraded this year, who is left to start in the earlier bunches?
  14. I just received a response on my query and got told that they didn't use D2D results for seeding as it is too recent but they did use Jock and Sun City results.
  15. Me too. I was A last year and now in G?
  16. After suffering for 19 months I had ITB surgery on 5 Dec 2011. Was allowed to start light spinning after 3 weeks and another 3 weeks later I was back on the bike. Rode Argus on the11th of March with absolutely no pain. I consider the op the best thing I could've done as nothing else worked. It was a 20 minute procedure under local anaesthetic and I walked into and out of theatre. The pain and discomfort was worse than expected but worth it in the long run.

    D2D 2012

    Count me in.
  18. After battling for 18 months I had mine done in Dec last year and was back on the bike riding 90+km after a month. Best thing I ever did as none of the other treatments helped.

    Argus H group

I'll be the one trying my best not to get dropped in cycle lab kit on a blue and white Trek.

    Argus H group

I'm also in H and this is my first Argus. Not really sure what to expect and what a realistic time could be, but I'm hoping for a 3:15 or better too.
  21. Awesome race today, very well organised! My favourite so far this year
  22. Did this one last year in June and can definitely recommend it. Would have loved to do it again this year but now it's a week before Argus.
