I owned one in red / black when I got seriaas with road cycling

Indestructible frame

Stiff as hell

Served me well until I had to go lighter and with better vertical compliance

Currently have the red/black team frame. Have had it for over 5 years. When I got it it came with 105 5600 and mavic aksium wheels. After wearing those out have since upgraded to 105 5800 and fulcrum quattros.

The frame had held up well apart from colliding with a car and snapping my rear stay which I repaired myself and has been fine. The front fork however snapped near the top of the carbon steerer whilst mashing it up a hill. Perhaps over tightened the stem or may have been weekend from accident, can't say. I have replace it with a Scott CR1 fork given to me by a very generous fellow huber (thanks carbon29er) and going strong.

I sometimes wish had a lighter frame but this Raleigh has overtaken many top end bikes and the fun factor hasn't changed since the day I got it from Gerry and Urban Cycles. I would highly recommend as a first time carbon or budget entry level performance ride.

Searching for information on frames and stumbled upon this. I bought this frame in 2009, the red and black team frame, built the bike with an Ultegra 6700 groupset with Mavic Kysirium elite wheels. I still have the bike today and it looks incredible. I replaced the wheels with a new 2017 Mavic Kysirium elite and it rides pretty well. I have serviced the bike once a year before a big race and just can’t find fault in it. It’s an excellent frame, rides hills and bumps very well. Can’t find a reason to replace it. Maybe considering replacing the groupset with a R8000 Ultegra and there an up to date bike with 11 speed. I’ve checked the bike for frame stresses or fractures nd there is absolutely nothing wrong. I regularly jump the bike when I leave a speed bump and no damage.

5 and a half years on, I still have mine. I have looked after it really well and the frame still looks brand new.

I cannot bring myself to replace it. I would like to keep it for a while to come. Would love to upgrade it to Super Record. But, 105 will have to do for now.
