As far as i know spez does not allow, any shipping of spez products from the states to SA.

Just saying, that a specialized retailer in the states may not sell to anyone outside the US. so that by default if you managed to get it out of the states will void a warrantee.

I have two, oops make that 4 (forgot my Langsters)

But my baby at this stage is my Ritchey.

But aside, as a company they actually have a great attitude, they really care about the riding public.

Let's not label a brand due to one or two people acting like morons.

I see.. I'll call around and check it out.. My MacBook wouldnt be repaired unless i had customs papers.. If i did it wouldnt have been a problem.. Ipads dont need customs papers, just a receipt of purchase..

U sure?? Because thats the story with a lot of products..

Two reasons: You didn't buy it from the local agent. And because you have a friend buying it for you, you technically aren't the first owner.

The first reason still applies.

I know of a decision made by the local Specialized agent to consider processing an overseas-bought frame. When the customer got uppity and provided a proof of payment which didn't bear his name, the agent laughed him off.
