that said i've never seen a bad morewood, those boys do do things right. Even though they dont churn them out lke the bigger manufacturers.

I know they did them right when Patrick was there ..... let's see what the future holds for them.

There is one specific rider I know who has now had his deposit down for a Sukuma for nearly two years. I feel really sorry for him that he has to wait so long for the new bike, but he is adamant he wants it.

So good for him then. But the poor guy is having to still ride his old raleigh duallie in the interim :)

So 12kg is the lightest that bike will ever be, eish and an overall rating of 7, thats not great especially for a 50k bike. Also dont let the chaps on the one thread see that the SID is being dissed as a trail fork, according to the hub experts the SID is just as good as a reba and a revelation :).

All and all what i am trying to say is,

1, the bike is just way to heavy,

2, its a first generation bike and its bound to be flawed, especially geometry wise, yea one or two (local) people might have reviewed it fairly well, but that means little in the greater scheme of things. Its when the big boys like MBR Mag start putting these types of bikes up against the Epic, Rocky Mountains, Santa Cruz, Ghost, etc that you will find it rates in the lower echelon's. And for the same price tag as the big boys its just not a great deal, espeicially since they put decent kit on the lower and mid level bikes and its still a heavy machine.

3. There is no 142mm at the back, and not sure if the front is 15 or 20mm maxle, Also you have a choice here apparently, either a racy bike thats out of synch on the ST, or add a trail fork which dulls the steering, kind of an oxymoron.

All and all its not a bad bike but its not a great bike either. I personally would wait for their second maybe 3rd generation bikes before i invest in a momsen.

Why not have a look at the GT Sensor 9R Pro? Full XT, Fox both ways and price is about R22k

If I may ask, what do you base your comments re the geometry on?

Read a couple reviews, a couple of months ago when i was researching which new toy to buy, my appologies cant remember the sources, but discarded it as I also thought initially this will be a strong candidate. I just remember the reviewers all came to the same conclusion, a fairly descent but heavy bike, not a bad attempt at a 1st gen bike, but the general concensus was "check this space" i.e. wait for the 2nd gen to come out.

Cool. Was wondering cause the ones posted do not mention that. Will dig around for older reviews.

Yeah was while i was on a business trip to the UK, loads of time to read :) but like i said its not a bad buy its just not an exceptional buy, the hard tails from Momsen i know has gotten some rave reviews. That said if you paired that up against the Scott Spark, i would probably go with the Momsen, my favourite in the sub 20k price class is still the Giant.
