MTB routes in Bloemfontein?

I am spending this coming weekend in Bloemfontein and was wondering if anyone has any good MTB routes to ride in and around Bloem?

There are quite a few spots here in bloem!! What type of riding do you want? Technical? Long dirt roads? Downhill MTB tracks?

Any type of riding quite keen on a bit of technical and some long dirt road rides, so maybe technical on saturday and a longer dirt road ride sunday!!

Ok where you staying? There are 2 places that are very close to each other for technical riding and the dirt roads are easy to navigate on!!

You have 2 options

 

1.) Get on the N1, ride about 1,200km's South until you see Table Mountain. You have arrived at your destination.

 

2.) Go Northbound on the same road for 450km. Turn left and follow the hot air balloons. You have arrived at your destination

I was down in Bloem for Easter weekend and found some really fun riding close to Noordstad Mall in the 7 Dams Conservancy (I think another hubber has already mentioned this route). Enter the big patch of veld behind the cell tower at the North entrance to the mall - there's a network of singletrack trails that you can play in for hours. Quite pretty, a few small climbs and descents and a whole lot of fun. Beware of duiweltjies though - make sure you're well slimed up

I'm aware of the seven dams routes, but any other route ideas on the the northern suburbs side?

I will be in Bloem from 5 to 7 June.Is there any group rides in the mornings and where do they start ?.Any good bike shops in Bloem?

You can ask Hannes at Cyclotech Cycles in the Northridge(Noordstad) Mall for group rides!! They are also one of the best bike shops in the city
