lowracer Posted January 4, 2008 Share with the exception of the rotor size (160/180) are disk brake wheels compatible with one another, or what affects it? rephrase: If I buy a set of wheels with disk brakes, what are the chances of being able to use it on a bike with disk brakes? I bought a bike without the wheels on thehub, and am planning on buying a secondhand bike with discs for about the same price as a new set of wheels. the wheels on the complete bike is hayes HMX-2 discs, and the disc brakes on the bike without wheels are Formula Pro Hydraulics. Thanks a lot
dirtrider Posted January 4, 2008 Share Does the "new" frame got mounts for the calipers ? Then 180 will work . Adapter kits are available for bigger rotors .
lowracer Posted January 4, 2008 Share DR the one bike is complete without wheels that i bought from greekdog. this is the one with the Formula Pro Hydraulic discs the other bike is a dahon folder on Gumtree, with hayes HMX-2 discs. I want to use the wheels on the first bike. I think both bikes uses 160mm, but not sure if the wheels will fit
Ox_Wagon Posted January 4, 2008 Share I don't think there should be a problem if both are 160mm.
