How good a deal is Dura Ace 7800 groupset for R7999?

 

I realize it's not the latest but I don't need the latest. Worth getting or not?

7800 is a a fantastic gruppo, solid and reliable, shifts arguably better than mechanical 7900.

Low on bling factor, and a touch on the heavy side as far as modern top end gruppos go. I never liked the ergonomics of the shift levers.

 

If it was my money, I would rather go for SRAM Force - lighter (very close to Red), superb shift lever ergonomics, lots of carbon bling (no "insect antenna" exposed shift cables), more or less the same price.
