I could try finding this info on the CSA website, but its fairly unfriendly. I have asked a few people at ROAG and Advendurance. I need to know if my daugter (aged 10) will be allowed to enter a MTB event. Not the long distances, but between 20-30km. We did the Country Challenge near Walkerville yesterday and despite it being her first ride over 20km, and despite entering for a 30km ride (which ended up at 38km) she managed to finish without too much problems. However, afterwards we were told that she was actually not allowed to enter? Does anybody know what the official ruling is? There are no plans to race, its purely for fun, but it would be rather pointless if I get her the standard R75 license and she is not allowed to enter.

Hi Driewiel,

Actually there are age restriction on different distances. See the pic below for the mens catogories and restrictions. Sorry for the poor quality. Note these are CSA regulated categories and restrictions and is supposed to be enforced on online entry systems for CSA regulated races.

Will post the categories for woman next.

The general concensus has always been that they are only allowed to enter half marathon events from the Youth category (14-16)

Any younger and they should enter the fun (10-20 km) events.
