MapMyRIDE - slooooooooow?

Not sure if I'm doing it wrong or what, but the MapMyRIDE site always seems so painfully slow!

 

Plotting a ride takes almost as long as riding it. And NO, I do not live in Johannesburg, Texas (for the 100th time!!!!!)

My biggest problem with MapMyRide is that you can't download the routes in any useful manner anymore. Only gpx format with no elevation data. Pretty useless for a Garmin.

 

Generally the website isn't too bad, but mapping a route can take a long time to load.

Same issue. It has always been slow but lately slower than usual......

I tried that, Tiny K. Doesn't work on the 500. Even the suggestion of copying it straight to the gps unit doesn't work.

Strange coz it worked for me on the edge 800 and Niklasvm on the edge 500

 

save it as GPX

 

Plug unit into pc/laptop

Explore garmin to find 'new files' folder

Paste the route there

Unplug garmin

Start it up

Look under courses (it should be there)

Slightly off topic, but not worth starting a new one: I need help, I created a map and made it a 'return' route, now I cannot make it a one-way route again, does anyone know how I can do this without having to create the route from start?
