Just wondering if anybody here has a Chris King BB and if you think it is worth the dough. This is fot a MTB.

I have had a CK BB and Headset on my Chumba for nearly three years now and have had no hassles or maintenance required whatsoever. I couldn't justify the hubs, priced almost double over Hopes which have also been maintenance free for the same period..

Wow that is long lasting!

A lot of muddy conditions or not?

1yr on my BB - no issues

7yrs on my hubs - original bearings, serviced 5 times

10yrs on my headset - original bearings, never serviced

Worth every penny

Yip

I have 2 Chris King BB's, both for MTB.

When you do get them, get a Chris King BB grease injector tool as well, also expensive... EINA.

BUT, then you clean and push new grease in every 6months or so, and the stuff will last you a lifetime!!!

In my calculations;

Ordinary BB, around R350

Chris King BB, R1000.

You need to replace a BB every 4-6months, so if you have your King for more than 18months, you are in the clear!!!

Get one (or two), they are the real deal
