HI Guys. I heard of people complaining about Garmin Software, etc.

I recently Purchased a Bryton Rider 40....... VERY NICE. It has a few features over and above the Garmin 500. So here's my question........

How do Bryton Owners find Bryton Bridge and the brytonsport.com website? I spoke to Jason at Bryton SA and he was very helpfull (Their local Support is great). He explained why they don't have an export feature, and it makes sense. They need to keep the devices updated, and so on. Legitimate reasons I might add....... BUT. The web appliction just doesn't work that well for me, unless I have great 3G signal. Other sites load fine, but not brytonsport. It works well once your network is amazing. I'd just like to know if anyone else out there is experiencing the same?.

Thanks

AK

I have never had a problem, but I guess I use it at home where I DO have a good connection....

I'll admit that it does take a few moments longer than I like to connect and sync and upload the ride data. But can't really complain....

And my rider50 is an awesome piece of kit....

Oh and software the complaints you read about is not about the software on the unit itself. Rather the lack of in depth analysing functions on the very basic software supplied with the unit for PC use, like Training Centre or Garmin Connect.

That is easily solved with 3rd party software like SportTracks that will give you more data than you could ever imagine existed!

I am already using SportTracks3...... Great Product. But in order for me to Export the GPX or BDX I need t log in to brytonsport.com, upload, and then export, and that is the issue. The Website is slow, and if you Internet is not amazing, you get nowhere. I checked on the SportTracks forums, and they support the proprietry extensions, but not the direct export like with the Garmin devices. PITY though :-(..... once they support that, I'll be going for the full version, and use nothing else

SportTracks is the money.......... It's pretty amazing for a free tool. I'm not using it as much now...... when I do, I can go full version

I also battle to load the site with a normal 3G connection, but at home with my ADSL line it is not to bad. I must add, since I had my Bryton they upgraded the site and load much easier now than previously. Yes, Bryton have regular updates and that improved my GPS with a few functions. I prefer that my data is on the net due to that I can access or show a route to friends and family without having my own computer with me. I just lock on using any computer with internet access and have all my data available anywhere I go!

You should try the SportsTracker site (www.sports-tracker.com). Not all of the features that the bryton site has, but easy to use, easy to access, and you can embed (post to) twitter and facebook. And you don't need to run the application. just upload gpx files..... The bryton HRM extension is proprietry so you wont have any Heart Rate stats............ But for online, sportstracker is pretty much the best, but for local analysis, you don't get much better than Sport Tracks.....

my bryton kicked butt on Sani2C. All 3 days with no charging in between - and HRM active...partners garmin died halfway through day 3! :whistling:

Bryton Connect is a bit *** - getting the data in (and for some reason it defaults opening IE - although that is not my default browser) - but apart from that i am happy with the outputs and the stats
