come grebel ... put up some of the other pics you got from the race ....

I never got any race shots unfortunately. We went up the hill with you and walked down to the finish. After that the kids had had enough and wanted to leave. I had to go and fetch my wife from the airport anyway. Only managed a few pics from practise (Difficult to shoot and stop a two year old from stepping onto the racing line...). Was short on time last night after picking up my wife from the airport. I will do some resizing tonight or tomorrow and post some more.

While I was at the road gap, I had a chat to one of the riders who pulled up short. He was saying that he is sure that he can do it, it's just a case of building up the confidence. I told him that if it was any consolation, I would have taken the alternate option as well........ :w00t:

Quite a few plots of land were purchased during practise I might add....

ya the headwind on that gap was horrendous ... you had to be totally pinned to clear it properly ... Early on when it was so slick there were lots of new farmers ... but i think by the time race came up the track had settled in so nicely that it was perfect and everyone had good runs ... except for Justin who broke his loaner forks ...

I was there when a rider with the number 13 on his board Didn't get his name) ate it BIG time. Lawrence had pulled up short earlier and I was talking to him. He said he stopped bacause of the wind. Shortly after that #13 came down and as he launched, there was a gust of wind which blew him across towards the bush. His front wheel dropped and the rest was history. I can see the benefits of using a neck brace after that....

Edit: How's Travis doing?

#13 was Justin!!!! HAHA! He was cursing that number board from the moment he attached it to his bike!!

Just got a BBM from him now and he says that the Doc told him that the Collarbone had slipped out and then back in and he is going through some majr pain!

He still did both race runs and logged an extremely fast 1:47 considering the pain he was going through.

He crashed again in his second run and that is when he broke his forks.

I also got had a bit of a *** thanks to the wind on one of my practise runs. I came into the bridge gap at the usual speed but was met by a massive headwind!! So i got one or two more pedal strokes in before the launch and hucked it!!!

Felt like i stalled in the air!!!!! I landed quite hard with my back wheel on the top of the landing, but rode away unscathed. I did warp the back wheel slightly.

But Dean managed to straighten it out no problem...... Dean can sort out anything with his box of tricks: 'Anything short of an engine rebuild'

HAHAHA

He said he was a bit sore but OK when we got to him (Mentioned that his colar bone was sore!!). He was more bummed about his helmet that anything else.

By the time we got down and I chatted to him in the pits, he was singing a different tune though.... From what I saw, I am not sure of this body would have walked away from that crash... Head first isn't fun! Not from that height or distance!
