ok, so after over 2 years of planning, scheming , changing my mind, making other plan's, going back to the drawing table, other interfering plan's , changing my mind again, i have finally gotten somewhere, ok not yet complete but making progress.

i have bought a frame, started building a single speed, changed my mind, and built the bike up into a geared MTB for a friend, bought another frame transfer all my componets onto the new frame, and now slowly started building up the old frame into a single speed.

it has a Dmr single speed kit, although found my magic gear by chance and thus not using it, with a E-Thirteen single speed chain-ring, on Shimano cranks,

old Trek frame with Rock-shox Tora forks.

only thing missing now is a set of brakespost-12682-0-02740000-1338648159.jpg

Nice to see you're started!

Hang on to that tensioner, you'll need it when the chain stretches a bit....

Very nice. Give it a couple of rides and soon you'll be lusting after something with sliding dropouts or EBB, in steel.

thanks for your support.

yeah, just need to get a set of stopping devices, then all done.. and maybe a single speed chain.

least i finally have something that resembles a bike...again

i Have a Noob Question..

how tight must the chain be?

if i tighten the chain to its "Magic Gear" it seems to be way too tight and hampers pedaling, if i put in a extra link, and tensioner at max. it now seems too lose with a lot of slack

It should just be able to e depressed.

If you can use your finger to push it off the chainring, it's too loose -it will jump off in the rough stuff.

need to take a better pic

Haha I had the same problem when I first started SSing. Kept reaching for the shifters. Haha you get over it. Rad my bros gear bike on sat and had the opposite problem. Kept forgetting there are gears and he kept kaking on me to change on the climbs or I was gonna break his chain. Haha.
