If you don't provide the above details, we can get very tempted to be sarcastic and rip you off for our own entertainment.

I.e - maybe you are just constipated and need to take a good kuk?

I.e - maybe your saddle is poking you in a-hole...

I.e - maybe in your spinning classes all your blood flows to your lower extremities because you are busy checking out the tannies infront of you, giving you extra pedaling power...

Hmmm. I am not sure if i am talking out of the wrong orifice here.... but bear with me!

my friend and i have got very different techniques when it comes to hills. He claims that sitting down puts more weight on his back tire, giving him better traction.

I on the other hand, prefer to get into a slightly heavier gear and alternate my body weight from one pedal to the other. I also use my arms a lot! alternating pulling and pushing so that i essentially keep the rear of the bike firmly planted and not too much weight on the front wheel while still providing a fair amount of power (as body weight+muscle is what is pushing the pedals down, not just my thighs..)

not sure if this technique is best but it seems to work for me! standing up seems to allow the bike to move under me better and i am using more muscle groups to help with the climb. so i guess that means that i am generally tired rather than having over-worked buggered thighs!
