And then you will get to see the bike in "Action" over the weekend too ;)

That will be the cherry on the top and the reason to sell my current bike :whistling: any idea how much I should ask for my Camber Comp? (2011 model)

In all honesty, if I never got my Shova frame for the price and condition I did I would have bought one of the Meta 5.5 frames.

The suspension action is really just amazing how it flows with the trail and gives exceptional feedback.

Does that include the Meta AM or just the Meta 5.5 frames?

I could not honestly answer that question, I do know you have looked after your bike though, so that is a bonus.

What were they retailing for when you bought the bike if I may ask?

When I looked there was AM back then.

The AM and 5.5 share the same suspension system, they just got tweaked a little if I recall correctly for the AM. I do stand to be corrected on this statement though.

Thank you and yes I made sure that the bike was well looked after.

History: http://www.commencal.com/web/en/company/history

Heritage of the New Meta AM:

The new META is unveiled at the beginning of the summer. Less then 2 weeks after its presentation, Remy ABSALON uses it to win the most mythical of enduro races in the world, the Alpe d’Huez Megavalanche. The bike’s evolution is spectacular. Like its SUPREME big brother, the META makes use of the Contact System V3 in its layout. At ease on any terrain, it launches the concept that a real enduro bike is not a cross-country bike that can descend, but indeed a downhiller that can climb! The difference is huge! For the first time, we are clear in our minds that the priority is placed on play, on riding pleasure. We can confirm that to make a strong performer, we need to concentrate on a design that is aimed at fun and riding satisfaction! The more fun you have, the faster you go!

Thank you for the history lesson on Commencal and the META frame  from what I have read above the META frame/bike is the direction that I need to head into, AM bike that I can use to climb and every now and then a little XC is what I am currently looking for. Few extra KG's is not going to kill me up those hills!

The Meta 5.5 and MetaAM's suspension linkages are different - the MetaAM borrows its cues from the Commencal Supreme DH V3

I love my 5.5. but if I had the cash I would get the MetaAM, purely because of the awesome reviews it's been getting. I haven't ridden it. And of course, my 5.5 is of the older variety (but not much different from the current model)

Been reading a lot of good reviews about the Meta AM and this is making me even more excited about this bike! I have been told that on Saturday there will be a Meta AM on the trail so I am really hoping to get a glimpse of it in action for myself and possibly have a go :whistling:

Fear not Wes ... your model won trail bike of the year back in it's day with one of the UK mags.

That explains why I dig it so much  also, the only thing still stock on this bike is the frame AFAIK :w00t:

Haha... is that not what usually happens when it comes to some/most of our bikes... few months/years down the road and the frame is the only part that remains constant but I know there are exceptions out there

So, AM bike, what sort of pedals should it have or do they mostly have on them, flat or clipless pedals? I currently ride with clipless pedals so there would be no getting use to them phase and I do feel comfortable with them

This down to preference, B.T.W take along a pair of takkies in your back pack on Saturday as Johno rides flats and you might want try the bike wearing these and not disco slippers :)

Ok, I have noticed a mix of flats and clipless pedals in video clips so clearly it comes down to like you said, preference

Oh right, thank you for reminding me yes, will pack in a pair of takkies in my back pack for Saturday
