I had my road and mtb fitting done by Arran Brown,

http://www.cyclefit.co.za/index.htm

Looks decent, just a few questions. Where did he get trained and where did he study to be able to set you up, is it based on certain scientific setup protocol, just rule of thumb or his personal view of how things should be?

I'm not saying anything bad about him and I'm sure he is really good at what he does, but is it the BEST? That is my concern.

Cyclelab do the Ergofit for R400

Ergo fit is really good if you are an average human being... I say again the BEST setup is the one that is based on you specific biometric data and then customized to your current state of fitness and level of riding. So yes it should be Dynamic (well done ERGOFIT) but Its not dynamic or biometric data on it's own that makes the difference, it's the combination of everything and how the Technician interprets and implements that data for you.

If I can ask you the same question. I see you quite young, so where did you receive your training and experience which could possibly make your system the "best". Did you perhaps work with Mark Williams?

Good question! I was trained by Specialized (SBCU/ Specialized Bicycle Component University) together with the Boulder Institute For Sport Medicine. The lead researcher is Dr. Andy Pruitt and I'm one of only a few qualified BG FIT Technicians in the country. I do not work with Mark Williams, I work from my own facility and I can come to you, at your convenience.

Thanks - I may just take you up on your offer. Not so sure about my current BG Fit

I will do, Im going to BodyBikeFit.

I was going to skip the Spez method, but I see mention of "institute for sport medicine" (so Im assuming he knows more than just BG), and he speaks of interpreting data which I think is something that a lot of people miss.

Lets see how it goes, its got to be an improvement on my current setup anyway.
