help with remote lockout

i dont use my remote lockout on my bike,how do i remove it

i got a scalpel 29er (canondale lefty)2012

then just take it off...unscrew a few allen caps and remove the cables from the shock(s) & it's off.....just make sure you have it in the unlocked position before removal.

it is a hydraulic push button.when it is pushed in the fork works,when pushed out ,it is locked.i am scared as soon as i open it i will loose presure and it will be locked.

no.it is a remote.the push button is on the handlebar with the pipe going into the shock

You need to buy the replacement internal on a lefty to be able to remove it . the replacement unit will make it look like the pbr and the pic above .

 

its not so simple on those , contact omnico and see if they have stock then you will need to take it to a left service agent to get it swopped out .

actually i think you will need to replace quite a bit .

 

The PBR , that you are after is a push button system

 

The remote one you currently have is a hydrolic system so i think you may have to replace the top stage of the internal cartridge .

 

i have the pbr and have opened it for service and its nothing like the remote system .

 

i could be wrong but call omnico as said .

On that mtbr forum there is helpful lefty expert Craig that goes by MendonCycleSmith who can give you advice and sort you out with the parts if you don't come right locally. There are many flavours of lefties.
