Front derailleur compatibility...

Can i run a 2x10 front derailleur SRAM X0 shifter on a 3x10 Truvativ X0 chainset with a bashguard? Or do i need to get a 3x10 shifter?

It will work perfectly fine. Just make sure your limit screws are adjusted properly. You may have tolerance issues with the front deraileur though... 2x10 front mechs generally differ according to what chainring combo you run. But if the deraileur works, the shifter will too

Im confused ... are you talking about the Front Derailleur or the Shifter here?

 

If there are 3 chainrings on your crank, use a 3x10 front deraileur with a 3x10 shifter.
