Selling a bike- advice please

Hi guys,

 

Last year I bought a Mongoose Transfer in the spur of the moment thinking that I would magically have enough time to ride my MTB and try my luck at some trials in between all the travelling.

 

Needless to say it's been gathering dust for the past few months- first at the LBS where it was for sale, and now at my house. Thing is, I now live in Kimberley and there's not a massive market for this type of bike.

 

I will however be heading up to JHB for a week now and was thinking I sommer take it to a pawn shop seeing as I just want to get rid of the bike...

 

Does anyone know of an alternative place that buys second hand bikes to sell again? I don't mind dropping my price too much?

Advertise it on thehub. Payment for delivery / collection can be arranged between you and potential buyers. It really does not cost that much to courier a bike.

Speak to the guys at www.bicycle-trader.com - they buy and resell bikes (I bought one from them earlier this year) - shop is based in Fourways / Cedar Square area. They also list bikes on the Hub under the name "dumela".

 

Obviously you won't get a full retail value, but they they would probably it off your hands easily...

I'd suggest you drop your price on your ad to the lowest amount to willing to take.

 

There's also a guy in Kilarney JHB that buys & sells bikes. I think his website is www.secondhandbikes.co.za or www.secondhandbicyles.co.za

He's name is Ronnie.

 

Just remember that selling it to a business they going to give you next to nothing so you might as well sell it on the hub.
