Difference Between Scott Spark and Genius

Hi guys

 

Ok so excuse a stupid question, or maybe allot by now

 

I ride a Merida 1-20 atm (upgraded to XT groupset with RockShox SID RTL forks), so far most of my riding has been Rietflei and Thaba, but have also enjoyed the odd Blockhouse ride that goes to 60-80km, def like to do more of these, to get fitter, and then maybe some 1 day races, and well only 1 three day race i'm really keen on doing some day, being Sani2C.

 

So into which bucket of all of them would we put the 1-20, which would I fit into considering my normal riding up to now, and then (I said there is more than 1 question), whats the difference between the Scott Spark and The Scott Genius, they look very similar... or well the basic shape, clearly the 2013 Genius has been beefed up in the Head & at the BB.

The genius has more travel, and is geared more towards trail / am riding and aggressive cross country than the spark. It's a very capable bike, the Genius, and for me, I'd go for that over the spark any day.

 

Also, seeing as you're currently riding the 1-20, the spark may seem a tad too much "xc" compared to the current ride (steeper head angle = more jittery)

 

My guess is that you'll have more fun on the genius...
