Come on HUBBERS, if you dont think it will ever happen to you. It happens to the best of us at some time or another.

I've been supporting hubbers for over 3 years. Its a great time to get the new silicone ICE ID PRO

10% off for all hubbers use code THEHUB in discount coupon on website http://www.iceid.co.za/new-pro-ice-id/

Damn... ordered 2 bands earlier today (as a result of this post), but I missed the discount coupon. Next time... I reckon I'll get some other tags made up to stick onto my motorbike helmets.

Gila, do you still do the strap ones ?

Just did the "look at the website" thing. You know it actually works, managed to find the answer myself.

Good job, yes, we still do the velcro original wrist ice ;)

I've just ordered one based on this post. Got me worried a bit. I ride alone quite often. What sort of info does consensus say one should put on this tag?

I've thought about name, medical aid name and details, emergency contact details?

KONA KULA, I hope you're back on two wheels soon, that looks eina.

What is your order number and ill check if your details are correct for engraving?

NAME

SUBURB

ICE NAME AND NUMBER

ICE NAME AND NUMBER

MEDICAL AID NAME AND NUMBER

BLOOD GROUP IF YOU KNOW IT OR ALLERGIES

If all that info is engraved, what happens if you need to change the info (medical aid, contact details etc.) Do you need to get a new band?

New order done. Thanks, Kona Kula, but your mishap gave me a wake-up.

No problem, thought I should share it. Private hospitals don't even want you to lie down in casualty until they know you can pay. Also I forgot the numbers of the people I needed to call. Lucky my brother was with me so he sorted all that out.

Yeah, you're very lucky. When I went into the back of a taxi - all alone - some years back, the ambulance didn't want to take me to private hospital. I had to phone my ex-wife and ask her to meet me at casualty* with my medical aid card (she had one because our kids are still on it).

Got my first ICEID after that. Lost my wristband a while, but still have the dog tags, and your post prompted me to get the one Gila poste. Which option did you go for?

*Have made so many trips there since, they don't even ask me for details anymore - the just say: "You again?" - and waive the registration fee.

The equestrian shops sell a medical emergency bracelet type of thing we have to wear for eventing - its called a crashband - I have mine under my saddle (bike) - and has all your emergeny details, contact numbers and medical details including med problems, allergies etc. handy little thing.

Not Knocking the ICE ID product, (any form of medical identification that keeps me out of a government hospital is a necessity in my eyes) but I use the Samaratin Band.

http://www.samaritaninfo.com/images/ProductHomePage.gif

With these you can change the info without getting a new band/tag as often as you like (All your data is stored online)

R145 delivered.
