11 Weeks to go. How is your training going guys?

 

I would say my progress looks like this:

Swim: 65%

Bike: 55%

Run: 20%

of where I want to be by 20 Jan. So lots of hard work lying ahead during Nov/Dec, but at least I have been sticking to my training program for the past 2 weeks and I am still slowly building on my run distances.

 

Not so good for me. This weekend at Slanghoek was a bit of an eye opener, finished in 3:20 (including a flat on the bike).

At least I know there's a lot of work still to be done.

 

 

Swim: 50%

Bike: 90%

Run: 5%

 

I hate running so much.

Looks like we all need a BIG training month in November.

 

IF ANYONE know of a Sub entry that someone want to sell please PM!

We need one entry......very desperate as the guy already paid for Accommodation....

I also have that issue. I'm keeping my distances short (5-7km) and building base. Did GunRun and it actually went okay... 2:18. It's not super fast but at least I was able to run 95% of the time. So I'm gonna continue with the shorter distances for now, and then maybe ramp it up in Dec and seeing how it goes.

 

Same here. Running is really tough to get going. I am going to keep my distances between 5-7km for the next 2-3 weeks, with a 10k thrown in next weekend and see how I feel by end of November. Then I might start increasing the distances. I guess its a case of listening to your body.

I did the Slanghoek tri this last weekend. Swim 1.2km 21min, bike 52km 1h51m and run 12.5 km 1h10 ... Would say im about 40% ready.

3:22. If we had to run another kilometer I'm sure you would have passed me I was running so slowly.

They introduced a new rule last year to allow subsitutions? it was driven by the athletes

Ill assume your name starts with C as it was the slowest run time of the 3 people who finished in that time. Our swim was almost exactly the same. 1h39 Bike Slipt! nicely done!

:), thanks, and that was with a flat that took 4 minutes to fix.

 

Yip, we must have beaten each other a few times around the buoys.

 

I did a substitution, but it looks like the organisers kept the original guy's name.

If you still want in just go on the waiting list. I am sure there will be plenty of cancellations. Lots people get Kilojule-poisoning during December.....
