From my many many episodes of CSI watching:

 

I have seen the gates - ride there often. upon first analysis, the following was indicative: There was no petechial haemorrhaging. One could however see in the gravel 4x tyre indentations on the cable way side of the gates - this to me would indicate a 4x4 vehicle was used to cause the damage and the gates were pulled/ towed towards the cable way side.

 

Let us know if the pond-scum are caught and we can tow them barefoot on the downhill jeeptracks!!!
