Any recommended upgrades for 2012 GT Zakar 9er Elite Hard Tail

I'll be using this bike for trainig, trail riding on a daily basis. I want to purchase a better bike for racing but want to keep the GT as my daily bike. Is it worth upgrading and if yes, then what should I upgrade?

General

The GT Zaskar 9R Elite is a 29 inch Hardtail bike. It has 100 millimeters of front travel

Tough to say, its already a decent bike, will be hard to justify any upgrades.

 

Keep this bike as it is, especially because you want to buy another bike as well

Depends on your reasoning for the upgrade, it is already a solid bike.

 

You'll only really make a difference on weight. (wheels, fork, some smaller components) Might not be worth it financially

 

You don't say what wheels are on there, you might be able to lighten that. Take them to a good wheelbuilder to check out how well they are built (I do this with any factory built wheels) and they should last a long time.

 

If I had that bike the only thing I would do is put my Maverick fork on there, purely so it is different no other reason.
