And while we're on a roll. Perhaps we can do this in solidarity of those who commute to work on bikes as there only option of transport. I'm not sure how to get some of them along but making a contribution to there safety would be a very worthy cause for me.

I thought about that this morning. Most mornings i see these guys that ride up buffelsfontein on their bikes. Some mornings they even have a single file peleton going up to work together. Maybe i can stop and speak to a few of them. We can get them to the event by offering them a few bottles of lube to service their bikes :)

I have just spoken to a friend. They run a charity called KICK and they are more than willing to attend the event and help collect items for different childrens homes.

have a look at their website.

They are currently starting a new project, they want to fix up old rusted containers and build a school out of them.

I like this excerpt from the newspaper article re the Durban Critical mass.

"They aim to create awareness of bikes as an alternative and sustainable form of transport, to build community spirit and celebrate exercise on two wheels."

Combining those 3 points above would be awesome.

Yeah i read that. It was very well put. That is why i think we should leave it as a "Critical Mass" ride.

All things considered I agree with you. The beauty of a critical mass is that it just flows with minimal organizing. Make a date and let the vibe on the day take care of the rest. Let's not try and save the world with this ride.

If by critical mass number 2 or 3 a bunch of commuters join and the combined community spirit exceeds expectation then great.

Thanks Jules

After speaking to Skidd yesterday he put our minds at ease on how to get the ball rolling. We were actually complicating things and one simple phone call to him and now this is going to happen.

Thanks Skidd

Hi Guys

I have just been informed that they will be having a Memorial cycle for Mr Clem Morris on Saturday Morning at 6 am from 10th Avenue Bp group. All cyclists are encouraged to attend as there is also an aim to create awareness for cyclists on the road. It will be great if all the Pe folk can support this initiative
