Hi there

I took the free non tracked shipping option, any way I can figure out where the parcel is also...

Atm it is somewhere between UK and SA Post office down the road, or it might be at my post office, but to get them to get of their asses and go look, it would be easier to get a chicken to come and show me it's teeth.

I wonder why people keep getting this free untracked option. 12 of my 14 CRC orders have all been free shipping. Most recent one I received last week. Every time I have received a tracking number, even though select the "free untracked option".

Have you been onto your CRC order history? Does it say it was shipped with Royal Mail, or Parcelforce? Check... you may have tracking after all.

Maybe I'm just lucky?!

Ok, so if you are unlucky enough to have Royal Mail shipping, there is a way to track your parcel down once it is in SA. but remember, Royal Mail can take up to 6 weeks to get to SA, so if you're currently on 2 weeks or so, I wouldn't be stressing.

If you are around the 4-6 week mark, then do the following.

Phone the International Mail Centre ( 011 961 6006 ), and speak to a customer care person. Tell them that you have a parcel inbound from the UK. Tell them you don't have a tracking number, but you would like to search via recipient name and delivery address. they are able to do this and tell you if the parcel has been through customs or not. They should also be able to give you a ZA tracking number

Are you sure you don't have one! Go check! It looks like this:

The above order was also placed with free "non tracked" shipping, but as you can see, it has a tracking number

It says:

Shipping Method: Royal Mail International | Shipping Date: 16/10/2012 00:00:00

so no parcelforce...

Ouch! Sorry for you!

But yeah, you haven't waited nearly long enough for a Royal Mail delivery, haha!

You can try my recommended strategy now, you may be lucky... but chances are you still have a week or 2 left of waiting

Call them on 011 961 6006.

Give them your EE123456789GB tracking number. They'll give you an II987654321ZA tracking number, should be able to tell you the customs duty and VAT payable.

As for collecting, the mail centre is on the east rand, near Emporers Palace. I've been there a few times when EMS (the couriers) have been unable to find my address and deliver to my door.

EMS say that my order is waiting at the post office, thanks for the advicethumbup1.gif

Glad I could help.

You shouldn't need your collection notice in order to receive your parcel. Simply go there and give them the ZA tracking number. They should be able to check the log and find it from there.

I called until failure twice, then got through the 3rd time. They must be really busy , just keep trying.

Was you slip also labeled SECOND NOTICE?

I think the PO strike affected these.

Which part of Gauteng are you in?

It was my first notice but the parcel arrived on the 31st of Oct. Mine was delivered to the Benmore post office.
