Hi,

I have a Giant Alias 2007, still standard, with Haze Sole disk brakes. I need advice on how to set them up since they go soft and then the LBS adjusts them (without charge) but soon afterwards they are soft again. I have removed the pads and they seem fine with a lot of pad still left.

I am able to alter the inner adjustment screw but the outer adjuster seems either stuck or not designed to be adjusted.

The problem is only on the rear brake and bike has done in the region of 500 to 800km since new.

Any advice ??

If they're hydrolic, it sounds like they haven't been bled properly or they're leaking somewhere. Getting rid of all the air bubbles is an art form Confused.

Yup.  That bubbles can cause havoc.

Had to bleed my Juicy brakes about 5 times to get everyting sorted......

You have a resevour at the top (brake lever).

Open it up and get all the air out.

Advice is to get a bikeshop to do it.  Have a look at HOW they do it so that you can do it yourself in the future.

Yes, they are hydraulic. I have discussed bleeding with the LBS and they doubt it seeing the age of the bike. They still offer to adjust it for me free of charge but seeing that it doesnt last, I need a better solution.
