Walso, I would recommend that if you are going to purchase a bike, you should look at a dirt jumper instead. It will be a lot more versatile than a BMX. A lot of guys that start with BMXs migrate to DJ bikes quite quickly, so you could spare yourself the pain.

Thanks Nolipoli, I'm heading to Mikes Bikes later to have a look at what they have. I am keen on a dirt jumper since it is more versatile, but at the same time I like the idea that I can also hit a skatepark and mini ramps with a BMX. BMX also cheaper, and I reckon if i really get into Dirtjumping I could sell the BMX and get a DJ

Some guys use their DJ bikes at skate parks.

Remember that you will lose at least half the value on a BMX when you sell it.

 

I hold the opinion that the fastest way to get to an emergency room is with a BMX. They are very unforgiving!

Mongoose Fireball, GT Chucker or Ruckus, Giant STP, all good keywords to search for and all solid frames. You can upgrade parts if and when you need to but those bikes will last.

Yeah I'm very keen on the Fireball, especially the extra gears, helps getting around town as well.

 

I mailed a few junk mail ads, will see if anyone gets back to me. Couldn't find a lot of Dirt Jumpers here on the Hub though
