Takealot.com - taking what exactly?

Saw Matt's post under news.

 

Clicked through thinking Lekker, we have another choice to spend our money with rather than importing ourselves from the usual sites we use abroad.

 

Alas, the store is getting fed from some far away country and every product I looked at said 5 - 7 working days to dispatch.

 

The prices are going to have to better than hot to survive if your customers have to wait 7 working days for you to send their goodies.

 

That's what brilliant about living in Africa. The big first worlders come over here and treat us like we know nothing about shopping. And because it's Africa we'll happily wait 7 working days for them to pack and send our stuff.

They've been around for ages, but more in the Movie, gaming, book market... they have some awesome specials from time to time, but can also be expensive. What is good, is that they have a massive range (I'm not talking cycling stuff here), but it takes time to get here

I buy games for my son from there. Their prices and range are mostly better than any of the major stores and I cant complain about their service.

I buy games, books and computer components (when cheap) from them all the time. However, bike prices would have to come down before I considered them for that purpose.

i understood takelot basically acts as a middleman between us and amazon. They started when amazon stopped shipping to SA about 5 -6 yrs ago
