Guys, i need help! Happened before and happening now again.. 3weeks ago my recovery ride turned a bit fast and i was sprinting at max hr and effort. Next day i started shivering and feeling real cold which carried on for almost a week.. did blood tests and found nada, no diabetes , no thyroid, not even increased white blood count. Did some slow easy rides inbetween and felt ok. Last night i did a spinning plus gym sessionand was doing intervals at max pace, and today the same thing... shivering and feeling cold

anyone else experienced this before or have any ideas?

Compromised immune system?

Rest more.

Stick to your training plan.

A week off from 90% + efforts would be good to restore your immunity.

I'm not a doc or physician, just have reasonable about training methodology.

E.g.

1. Never repeat hard sessions. Mix it with easier sessions.

2. Every 3 rd week can be an 'easy' week.

3. Listen to your body during training. If you're not feeling well, turn back home.

4. Take time off when you're too tired to train.

Compromised immune system shows a lower white blodd cell count.

I had similar symptoms a couple of months back although not after strenuous exercise. Turned out it was septacaemia.

If you do suspect a depleted immune system, consider going to a doctor to get a shot. You can get something that boosts the white blood cell levels in your body. This is entirely legit and may do the trick. Just can't remember what it's called. It's not a vitamin B shot though...

Yip, I feel like this quite often, but can’t say that it only starts the day after the training - usually straight after the training session.

Usually if I don’t consume sufficient nutrition the day I train (like yesterday I didn’t have lunch but went for a 3.5hour ride after work) then the moment after I get off my bike or after my shower I started getting cold. Most of the time just goose bumps, but sometimes the shivering too. Today I am colder than usual, but not the goose bumps cold as last night, although it does come and go sometimes.

For me it is all about nutrition and I know it, but still make the error of not doing the right thing all the time.

Difficult to tell - is the cause exercise or an illness? (hypothetical question - no need to answer)

I suspect you may have a viral illness - we have a choice to make - spend a lot of money and maybe not find anything concrete, or my reccomendation

- take at least 2 weeks off the bike and away from anything that gets your heard rate over 100 - 110 bpm - see if the symptoms persist or are repeated while you are resting - 2 weeks will not do anything meaningful to your conditioing.

If they repeat during the rest period then it is not the excercise....

Assuming they do not persist, then build up again for a couple of weeks and try the intervals again - if they do, pm me, and we will spend your money.

Makes sense...

Elimination, elimination.

Sheesh you of course know the idea of a "recovery ride"? Going max hr is just crazy! Can't really comment from a medical side, but a general trend is that people go too hard on softer/recovery rides and too soft on hard rides.
