If you ease in, then review your sensations after...

Don't turn slow into medium / hard though.

Thats the difficult part! i just cant let the roadies pass me by on my mtb whistling.gif and then drop me.i always have to tag along and try and beat them in a sprint. but yes, ill take it slowly..

Impulse control of that cheetah on the bike = ?

Total control yes devil.gif Just a pity im exactly like the cheetah, like lightning over the short distances but shyte over long intensive distances. also the reason i start mixing base riding with longer intervals. but ill keep it slow for the next week and start upping the pace again next weekend if the shivers dont return

You should wait another week - don't want a relapse.

Easy, stop training on the road and learn some discilpline.

About two weeks ago on a recovery ride I was overtaken by two oldish ladies wearing takkies on the Spruit. The following day I went past them at about 35km/h.

I use to experience similar effects especially after a hard race. One possible reason for this is simply that the body is busy cleaning up the damage to the muscles and hard work that you have put it through and this is one of the side effects – similar effects happen when you diet or detox ( when the body cleans out the toxins you may experience shivering, flu like symptoms, general body / bone aches headaches) As long as your Dr is happy and cannot find any physical reason – I suggest you find a good coach or training program that will help you to vary the intensity and frequency of your training. This may help you to resist the need to race the roadies on an active recovery ride and take rest days when required :)

Yep, i think in the end (and i hope it is) this is possibly the reason. ive rested now for a week and a did a pilates session this evening, so lets hope i feel normal tmwr. if i feel fine by tmwr, i might do a easy 30km at low pace, otherwise will do my 1st real ride agin on the weekend. lets hope for the best...
