BBN Posted December 10, 2012 Share Will be around Hermanus for a couple of weeks from the 16th Dec 2012 and am looking to hook up with other MTB riders in the area and find out about routes and trails. I've read a couple of threads and it seems to be Hermanus Cycle Club and Euodia Cycles that are the ones to talk to. I also believe that I should try Grabouw and Fernkloof?Any other advice or ideas would be very welcome and helpful. Also looking for somewhere descent to stay overnight around Graaf-Reinet on the way down from JHB?Cheers, Norm Edited December 10, 2012 by BBN b-unit

YetiFan Posted December 10, 2012 Share Chat to the guys at Eudodia - there is some really good riding close to the shop. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with a trip up to Oak Valley, Grabouw, Lebanon and Thandi
Carmichael Posted December 10, 2012 Share I will be there over dec training for epic and atta.. Will be riding alot. How long are the rides in the am?
Let's Ride Posted December 10, 2012 Share Road rides, anything from 70 km's to 100 km's. Sometimes Hoew Hoek and back or Kleinmond and a bit further. Sometimes we would do both in one day. But we always stop for coffee.
Velouria Posted December 10, 2012 Share I rode the new PPA funded trails in Hermanus yesterday. The routes start at the Wine Village (Euodia is in there) and head up the Hemel and Aarde Valley. There are several routes depending on your fitness level and technical ability. We did the 33km Black route yesterday in just over 2 hrs, while the ladies opted for the 25km Red route, and took them around 2h30. For maps and profiles, check out:http://www.pedalpowe...-trail-opening/ Another option is to head off towards Stanford and Salmonsdam Nature Reserve:http://www.mtbroutes...n-stanford.html As mentioned - Oakvalley, Thandi and Lebanon are all options too.
