Looking at getting a second hand one but am concerned as I have read there may be issues when fitting a small bike to the rack. Anyone here using one with a small bike frame (GT Avalanche 1 small)?

You could get a frame adapter for smaller bikes. Alternatively, what I do sometimes when I use a Thule Xpress and the rubber clamps that hold frame can swivel. On my son's small mtb or bmx I slip the front one under his downtube behind fork and clamp the down tube. The rear clamp I slip in between his seattube and rear triangle so the seattube is clamped and triangle rests on top of rubber.
