Hi guys, about a year ago i had ITB. Went to the fitter guy in melrose arch and he sorted it out. That itb was my right leg.

Did 94.7 this year on my Mtb and had no itb issues.

Yesterday did a long ride (70 km) in and around cradle with lots and lots of strong climbs. And after ride i felt a pain in left knee similar to itb. Its in left knee, on the outside of knee, almost at bottom of the knee by that tenant/ligament. But its a pain mixed with tightness.

Pain is still there today but only noticeably when climbing stairs etc

Could it just be the hills and that i pushed my self a but?

Ok that pain you're talking about on the outside and a little below sounds like you might have strained the LCL. That ligament sits on the outside of the knee and its lower insertion point is about 2cm below. Press around in that area and it will feel bruised. I've had this too before - both sides. It's there to stabilise the knee from twisting forces. If you have strained the LCL it's often because your foot is anchored to your pedal but the leg is twisting when pedalling (most especially when standing). I found that when I adjusted my cleats so my toes point outwards a few degrees, that took the pressure off the LCL. When you stand on a climb and your foot is not pointing in a 100% natural direction, all your weight bearing down on your anchored foot will force the leg to twist.

I also found that I didn't have to stop riding if I got that issue sorted. And a few days of anti-inflammatories & ice was enough to come right again. Look after your LCL and you shouldn't have to stop riding.

Then again, I'm not a specialist. Just saying what worked for me. Don't take my word as gospel; there could be other causes. But as I say, doesn't sound like classic symptoms of ITB at all.

Sounds like a overuse injury .Rest will help .Have you checked that your cleats or saddle have not moved .Even a, not straight, handelbar can make you favor one side by turning ,tilting your pelvis
