SA Post office international parcel clearance

seriously, this is a department that pride themselves on being as useless as can be imagined.

 

phone them, rings for ever, then go into queuing system, and then as they answer you hear the other side talk they put the phone down. and this goes over an over.

 

does anyone know if there is a public complaint number, or is this HelloPeter, ye I know it's like p1ssing upwind, nothing will come off it.

What number are you calling? 011 961 6000? Had no problem with them recently...

also try 011 961 6006 to go directly through to EMS

when they eventually answer... they give you information, it's the part of them answering the phone, not putting it down.

sadly the speed by which they put the phone down after eventually answering does not allow me enough time to try that.

 

finally got through, now got a SA tracking number, now to get SAPO's local tracking system to work.

Phoned the International Mail Centre on the 6000 number this morning, said they had the parcel and what the local tracking number (and all I gave them was my name as was by uk post no tracking) and that I could either wait for it to go to the post office or collect. I decided to collect and went to the airport facility (cnr Jones/Griffiths Rd) this morning, paid the duty and the handling fee and left with my parcel, no hassle and easy and within 10 mins of entering the building was leaving!!

 

If they have it, go collect it !!
