WP DH this year for amateur

I was thinking of giving formal DH a go this year.

 

1. how rough are the courses (as in would my 6" travel bike hold up). Used to ride Eden DH hardtail daily about 6-7 years ago without much fuss. My idea is skill before travel

 

2. What do I need to do to join in?

 

3. Not worried about winning, just riding with few like minded people.

The courses are fine.

 

Contemans is probly the most challenging it's quite steep in places. there are always chicken lines so don't stress about that. There are no big ego's or anything and it's a pretty shilled scene so it's fun.

 

There's even talk of an enduro class this year so you can forgo the shuttles and ride up and race enduro class if you wanna earn your turns as they say.

Wp downhill on facebook. All the races are advertised on there. Not sure when the season starts but the season warm up race is at Paarl on 2 and 3 feb. Cool track, perfect for beginners and shorter travel bikes!
