Gideondv Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Impressive Record(i didnt know there were a bike finish too, is this correct?)2012 : Car | 3th2011 : Car | 2th | 1 stage victory2010 : Car | 7th2009 : Car | 1st | 4 stage victories2007 : Car | 11th | 4 stage victories2006 : Car | 2th | 1 stage victory2005 : Car | 4th | 2 stage victories2004 : Bike | 54th2003 : Car | 5th In 2007 ( the last African Dakar) , Giniel was 1st till the last stage which was an easy peezy stage.... so it was a given that he will take it.... BUT he then picked up engine trouble (think it was a burst radiator hose)... 2009 was the first South American Dakar which he won & was also the 1st Diesel engine to take it! (Go VW ) Not to sure about the 2004 bike 54th... think thats incorrect!! He would have atleast been in the top 10

Up to second now... can the mini hold on???They had an issue with a front brake disk - "blew up". Had a quick stop, couldn't fix it, but then carried on more slowly and lost the time.
